To fly is mankind’s dream since antiquity. With innumerable rough but great attempts, the dream of flying came true at the end of the 18th century. Flight test conquered gravity for the first time. These brave pilots challenged the sky, the space constantly with their courage, brilliance and exploration spirit. In honor of those exciting moments and great inventor and challengers, craftsmen and masters made five hot air balloons that succeed in finishing five flights in France from 1783 to 1985 reappear on the dials of five models of Vacheron Constantin Metiers D’art Les Aérostiers collection.

From the image, we can see them obviously. Against a sky blue plique-à-jour enamel background, this splendid pink and white gold balloon is engraved with suns, the zodiac, fleurs de lys, garlands, insignia and an eagle with outstretched wings.

Although its final landing site was far from the initial designated spot, the flight provided much inspiration for the later development.

The flight scene three travelers took the balloon became the magnificent wonder in that era. The balloon on the plique-à-jour enamel background features a splendid variety of fabrics and ornamentation, as well as a mythological scene in the middle of the balloon.
